Today began on a short drive to Milwaukee, 23 miles. It took us an hour and a half to get there. Please pardon my lack of enthusiasm......I have a bad attitude due to their detour signs!
We found what we were looking for only after asking a guy that looked like he walked right out of an Irish cartoon book, with the red hair to boot. We sorta think he was drunk too. Laverne, Shirley, Lenny, Squiggy and now.....the Leprechan that will remind us of Milwaukee.
We also happened upon another plant that piqued James' interest.

From there we found our way, (thank heavens for navigation system, a cop and a bag of pretzels) to the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois. James spent 3 months there 13 years ago where he had his first sleep walking experience. Part of me thought he was going to leave me there to knock my attitude in to shape. We met a guy from Philly there, go figure.
On to Cleveland we went, through Chicago. 12:00 noon, we've never sat in so much traffic at that hour. Because of traffic we got some good shots of the city and Miller Park.

The road opened once in Indiana (still with an attitude but I fell asleep). We laughed, drank lotsa coffee, texted and emailed many of you until I was on the phone and I noticed the car exiting the highway. I was distracted and didn't see the signs my pilot saw, "Notre Dame next exit"!!!
James was in high heaven that he was able to see Notre Dame University with his very own eyes. Apparently my tour through Notre Dame wasn't over yet. James had one more stop for us. Do you think it's a coincidence we haven't seen a single mall on this trip??
Our last stop, shy of Cleveland, Ohio was Toledo. Home of Katie Holmes and sold out hotels. But not to worry, I got another sunset shot through the side mirror.
And the answer you're all dying to know, James laid the shorts to rest this morning.
Mom B, I couldn't agree with you more! Those shorts will be back on him moments after being washed.

NEXT AND FINAL STOP, PHILLY!

James, take the shorts off!! Nice job on the blog. I just found out where to find it yesterday. Looks like you two are having a good time. James, I really hope you are changing the undershorts a little more frequently than the outershorts. I look forward to the rest of your trip. Be safe!
well kiddies, it is 2:30 am and i can finally get some rest. i never knew the nasty odor from overworn clothes could come so far east! thank god james changed his shorts. anyone gotta match? if u were looking forward to the august weather philly has been enjoying (ugg), forget about it! it rained today, finally, and now we are going to enter fall. amy, i hope u are holding up with no shopping. any dt's? hallucinations? withdrawl symptoms? have faith, as soon as u plant your tootsies in philly, u can hit willow grove, franklin mills, and king o' prussia all in one day. have fun, james!
Hey Guys.
Great shot of "Touch Down Jesus". No trip to the ND campus is complete without seeing it. Did you run into Regis Philbin?
James, I would have paid good money to see you plop Amy on the back of a Harley and finish your commute on a tricked out bike.
By the way James...I hope you are prepared for a 7 day shopping marathon..you do owe Amy now! You should make her buy matching shorts!
Enjoy the PA turnpike. You have to wave at the "Ligonier/Donegal" exit sign, it's where my "people" are from.
Then make sure you stop at the Breezwood exit, it's a dump but you'll love all the tourist crap.
Oh yeah..watch your speed as you enter Chester County...They like to give out "fastest driver" awards at that point of the turnpike.
See you soon!
Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame... What a great stop. I'll be there in October '09 when Locker takes them on at home. Keep up the good work you two.
